About the assistant you're speaking with

Last updated: August 24, 2026

You're talking to a computer, not a person

The law firm you contacted uses an automated assistant built by a company called PipelineLift. It answers calls, texts, and messages so that no one who reaches out gets missed — including after hours and on weekends.

It is not a person. It is software.

You can always ask for a human

Just say so. Ask to speak with someone, and you'll be connected with a person at the firm, or someone will get back to you. You never have to keep talking to the assistant if you'd rather not.

What it does

It asks about what happened and what you need, so the firm knows how to help and how quickly. Then it passes what you've told it to the firm.

What it does not do

  • It does not give legal advice.

  • It cannot tell you whether you have a good case.

  • It cannot tell you what your case is worth, or how long it might take.

  • It cannot quote fees or costs.

  • It cannot agree to take your case. Only the firm decides that.

  • It cannot tell you whether a deadline has passed. If you're worried about timing, tell the assistant — it will make sure someone at the firm knows right away.

Talking to the assistant does not make the firm your lawyer

Sharing information with the assistant does not mean the firm has agreed to represent you. A firm becomes your lawyer only when you and the firm agree to that, in the way that firm handles it.

If you already have a lawyer for this matter, please say so. The assistant will stop and let the firm know.

Please don't share more than you need to

Tell the firm what happened. But please don't give the assistant your Social Security number, bank or credit card numbers, or passwords. It doesn't need them, and it won't ask.

Recording

Calls to the firm may be recorded. If a call is being recorded, you'll be told. If you'd rather not be recorded, say so and ask to speak with someone at the firm directly.

What happens to what you tell it

What you share goes to the law firm you contacted. The firm decides how it's stored and used, and the firm's own privacy policy applies.

PipelineLift only handles your information to run the service for the firm. We don't sell it. We don't share it with advertisers. We don't use it to train AI systems. We only use it to pass your information to the firm.

If you want to know what the firm has, or want it deleted, contact the firm directly — it's their information, not ours.

If this is an emergency

If you're hurt, in danger, or need help right now, hang up and call 911. The assistant cannot help with an emergency.
